Bible Study

On the First Sunday of Advent (this year the weekend of November 29th and 30th) we will begin a new liturgical year – Year A. This means most of the weekend Gospel passages during this “year” will be taken from the Gospel According to St. Matthew.  So why not learn more about this Gospel, since we will be hearing a great deal of it during the coming months?

Beginning on Monday, September 15, and throughout most of the upcoming Mondays over the next several months, we will offer an opportunity for the adults of our community to learn more about this very important New Testament work. The Monday evening sessions will last for one hour, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and they will be held in the parish office. They will be facilitated by Dr. Milt Kobus and Father Vince Costello.

The book we will use for our class is The Gospel According to Matthew by Sister Barbara Reid, O.P., PhD. It is part of the Little Rock Scripture Series. Each participant is responsible for purchasing his/her copy. It is a two-volume work, and it is available online through several sources. The price of each volume is about $20.00. The books are the only cost for participating in this program. If someone cannot afford to buy them, we will find a way to procure them for him/her – no worries.
